Creating Interactive Dashboards

SoterAI can build an interactive dashboard from your data and show it in a panel right beside the chat. Instead of a static chart image, you get live, interactive charts you can hover, read, and refine by simply asking for changes.

Dashboards are created by the assistant on request — there's no separate builder to learn. You describe what you want to see, and SoterAI assembles the charts and summary figures for you.

What you can build

You can ask SoterAI to visualise data from your records, a connected app, or a file you've uploaded. Typical examples include:

Incident trends over time

Plot incident counts by month or year to spot patterns, identify peak periods, and track progress against targets.

Breakdowns by category

Incidents by type, severity, or location — sorted and charted without manual pivot tables.

Headline figures

Totals, most common category, worst month, or year-on-year change shown as summary cards alongside your charts.

Claims and risk views

Distributions and comparisons drawn from your safety data. A dashboard can combine several charts and cards on a single page.

How to create one

Just ask in the chat — describe the data and the view you want. SoterAI does the rest.

SoterAI works for a short while (building a dashboard takes longer than a normal reply), then opens the finished dashboard in a panel to the right of the conversation. The chat stays on the left, so you can keep talking to SoterAI while the dashboard is open.

Refining a dashboard

To change a dashboard, just ask — for example, “add a chart for severity”, or “extend it with root cause and location”. SoterAI updates the dashboard with your changes. Each dashboard is built from the data available at the moment you ask, so it's a snapshot — it doesn't refresh on its own if the underlying data changes later.

The dashboard panel controls

At the top-right of the dashboard panel there are three controls:

Open in full page

Opens the dashboard on its own full-screen page in a new browser tab, giving the charts the whole window. Useful for presenting or reviewing a dashboard in detail.

Copy link

Copies a direct link to the dashboard so you can save it or share it with your team without any additional setup.

Closes the dashboard panel. The dashboard isn't lost — it collapses into a card in the conversation that you can reopen at any time.

Closing and reopening a dashboard

When you close the panel with the × icon, the dashboard becomes a compact card in the chat, shown at the point in the conversation where it was created. The card displays a document icon, the dashboard's title, a Draft label, and the date and time it was last updated.

To bring the dashboard back, click Open on the card — the panel reopens beside the chat exactly as before. This keeps long conversations tidy while making sure your dashboards are always one click away.

Because a closed dashboard stays in the conversation as a card, you can create several dashboards in one chat and reopen whichever you need — keeping long conversations tidy without losing any work.

Things to know

Dashboards are snapshots

Each one reflects the data at the time it was built. Ask SoterAI to rebuild or update it to pull in newer data.

Read-only view

A dashboard visualises your data — it doesn't change any records, and editing the charts by hand isn't part of this version. To change what's shown, ask SoterAI.

Building takes a little longer

Assembling a dashboard is more involved than a text reply, so give it a moment to finish — especially for dashboards with multiple charts.
