Using Origami Risk with SoterAI

Connect Origami Risk to SoterAI and bring your risk, claims, and incident data into your chats and workflows — so you can ask questions about what's already recorded in Origami without exporting spreadsheets or switching systems.

Like every SoterAI connector, the Origami Risk connection is read-only: SoterAI can read and search your data, but it cannot create, edit, or delete anything in Origami Risk.

Before you connect

You'll need three details from your Origami Risk environment:

  • Your Origami account name
  • Your Origami API user
  • Your Origami API password

Have all three ready before you start.

API access in Origami Risk is controlled by your administrator. If you don't have API credentials, ask your Origami Risk administrator to provide them, and confirm which modules and records the credentials are allowed to read.

⚠️ Keep your credentials safe. Enter them only in the SoterAI connect dialog — they're stored encrypted and are never shared with the model. Use credentials scoped to the minimum access you need.

What SoterAI can access

Once connected, SoterAI has read-only access to:

  • Incidents and events — recorded incidents, near misses, and related detail your team can reach
  • Claims records — claim details, status, and associated data
  • Risk register entries — identified risks, assessments, and ratings
  • Locations and org structure — sites, departments, and other hierarchy used to group records
  • Fields and metadata — field names, values, and record types

Read-only access: SoterAI can read and analyse data in Origami Risk, but cannot create, edit, or delete incidents, claims, risks, or any other records.

What SoterAI cannot do

  • Cannot create, edit, or close incidents, claims, or risk entries
  • Cannot submit forms or trigger workflows inside Origami Risk
  • Cannot access modules or records outside the scope of your API credentials
  • Cannot change configuration, permissions, or user access

How to connect

Click the puzzle piece icon in the chat input bar to open the Connectors panel. Find Origami Risk (use the Search connectors bar if needed) and click Connect.

In the Origami Risk dialog, enter the following:

  • Your Origami account name
  • Your Origami API user
  • Origami API password

Click Connect and return to the chat — you're connected. Your connection is persistent, so you won't need to reconnect each session.

To remove access at any time, open the Connectors panel and click Disconnect on the Origami Risk card.

You can also start the connection from the chat by asking SoterAI directly, for example: "Connect to Origami Risk".

If the connection is rejected, check that the account name, API user, and password are correct and still active, and that the API user has access to the records you're asking about.

Example queries

Once connected, just ask naturally.

Exploring your data

  • "What incident records are available in Origami Risk?"
  • "What fields are captured on an incident in Origami?"
  • "Show me the most recent claims logged in Origami Risk"

Reading and analysing

  • "How many incidents were reported last quarter in Origami Risk?"
  • "Summarise open claims by location from my Origami data"
  • "What are the highest rated risks on our risk register?"

Using Origami Risk data in workflows

  • "Pull last month's incidents from Origami Risk and draft a summary for the safety committee"
  • "Compare incident trends across sites using our Origami records"

Use cases

Plain-language risk reporting

Ask questions about incidents, claims, and risks in everyday language instead of building a report in Origami each time you need a number.

Combining risk and safety data

Bring your Origami Risk records together with SoterAI's safety analysis so trends in claims and incidents can be reviewed alongside your wider safety picture.

Preparing for reviews and audits

Quickly pull the incident and claim history you need ahead of a management review, insurer meeting, or audit, without leaving the conversation.

Troubleshooting

IssueSolution
Connection is rejectedCheck the account name, API user, and password are correct and still active. Sandbox or test credentials will not work against your production Origami environment.
Credentials no longer workAPI credentials can expire or be revoked by your administrator. Ask them to issue or confirm new details, then reconnect via the Connectors panel.
SoterAI can't see certain recordsAccess is limited by the API user's permissions. Ask your Origami Risk administrator to confirm which modules and record types the credentials are allowed to read.
Slow responses on large queriesLarge record sets take longer to retrieve. Narrow your question — for example, limit it to a date range, location, or single record type.
