Using Box.com with SoterAI
Connect your Box account to SoterAI to search, read, and ask questions about the files and folders stored in Box — without downloading or uploading anything by hand.

Connecting Box
There are two ways to connect, both the same as any other SoterAI app.
Using the Connectors icon (recommended)
- Click the puzzle piece icon in the chat input bar to open the Connectors panel.
- Find Box in the list, or type it into the Search connectors bar.
- Click Connect. A Box window opens.
- Sign in to your Box account if you are not already signed in.
- On the Box authorisation screen, click Grant access to Box to allow SoterAI to read your content.
- Return to the chat — Box now shows a green Connected badge in the Connectors panel.
Using the chat
You can also ask SoterAI in General Chat:
"Connect to Box"
SoterAI replies with an authorisation link; the flow is the same from there. Your connection is persistent, so you do not need to reconnect for each new conversation. To remove access later, click Disconnect next to Box in the Connectors panel.

Box AI. For questions about the content of a specific file, SoterAI can use Box's built-in AI to read and answer directly from that document. Availability of Box AI depends on your Box plan.
Things to know
- Read-only. SoterAI can search and read your Box content only. It cannot upload, edit, move, or delete anything.
- You only see what you can already access. SoterAI works within your own Box permissions — it cannot reach files or folders you do not have access to.
- Admin approval may be required. If your organization restricts third-party apps in Box, an administrator may need to authorise SoterAI before you can connect.
- Point to the right file when you can. Naming the folder or file (for example, “in my Compliance 2026 folder”) helps SoterAI find the right document faster.
